Simon Lab at Annual CEIRR Meeting

Simon Lab members Jessica Nardulli, Neko Lyttle, and Giulio Kleiner made a trip to Athens, GA for the Annual CEIRR Network Meeting to share some of our exciting work on both Influenza and SARS-CoV-2. Jessica gave a flash talk and we had multiple posters on display, showcasing our work on Influenza and SARS-CoV-2.The Centers of Excellence for Influenza Research and Response (CEIRR) Network is a National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) funded collaboration between labs from all over the world to keep an eye on Influenza. Our team was fascinated to learn about different studies from Iowa on cattle, or from Ohio on poultry, that provided insight into how viruses can spread rapidly. These studies are vital to understanding how viruses like the Flu are evolving and how keeping track of them can help us be prepared if and when they make the jump into humans.
